<p>St. Mary&#8217;s, Norwalk is pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for students of all ages to learn about Gregorian chant, the music <em>par excellence </em>of the Catholic Church, and the basis of all sacred music.</p>
<p><strong>Classes this year will focus on the antiphons, psalmody, and modes of the Divine Office.</strong></p>
<p>There will be daily Mass, lunch, and recreation time, with separate sessions for beginners and intermediate/advanced students.</p>
<p>The students will sing for the noon Mass at St. Mary&#8217;s on Friday, August 27th, and again for the 9:30 Solemn Latin Mass on Sunday, August 29th.</p>
<p>Both students with significant schola experience and those just beginning will benefit from Chant Camp.&#160; The only prerequisite is the ability to read English fluently.&#160; Attendance is required each day of the camp.&#160; Students should bring a bag lunch each day.</p>
<p>The fee is $50 per child / $100 per family for registered parishioners of St. Mary&#8217;s, and $70 per child / $140 per family otherwise.&#160; Scholarships are available; no child will be turned away because of financial hardship.&#160; <strong>Parents must register their children, by phone or <a href="mailto:chantcamp@stmarynorwalk.net">e-mail</a>, by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22nd.</strong></p>
