The St. Mary’s Children’s Schola and the Anchor Academy Schola Cantorum combine to make their respective debuts this Sunday by singing for the 11:30 Ordinary Form Mass. These young choristers have been rehearsing for several months, learning the basics of singing and reading Gregorian chant, the foundation of all sacred music. Henceforth they will sing approximately once a month, joining the professional Schola Cantorum at the 9:30 Extraordinary Form Mass. The scholae will sing for Advent Lessons & Carols on December 12th, and next sing for Mass on January 11th, the Feast of the Holy Family. For more information about the program of children’s musical formation at St. Mary’s, please contact David Hughes.
